LTS 2013 -- More Timely Than Ever

As NAPS delegates descend on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, April 9, House Members and Senators will be returning from their two-week spring recess.

At the same time, the chairs of the House and Senate postal oversight committees will be working on the final details of the postal reform measures they plan to introduce.  This means that NAPS will have the opportunity to impact these bills as they emerge in the House and the Senate.

NAPS already has endorsed several postal proposals and will be seeking additional support during meetings on the Hill.  Those measures are:

S. 316, The Postal Service Protection Act of 2013
Primary Sponsor: Sen. Bernard Sanders (I-VT)

H.R. 630, The Postal Service Protection Act of 2013
Primary Sponsor: Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR)

H.R. 961, United States Postal Service Stabilization Act of 2013
Primary Sponsor: Rep. Stephen F. Lynch (D-MA)

H. Res. 30, endorsing the continuation of 6-day mail delivery service
Primary Sponsor: Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO)

Also You Might Want to Know ...

Sequester-triggered budget cuts have forced the suspension of White House tours.  However, tours of the inspiring and historic Capitol remain available and can be booked through the offices of your House Member or Senator.

Also, unseasonably cool spring weather has delayed the appearance of Washington's famed cherry blossoms, causing experts to predict the height of this year's bloom just as NAPS delegates arrive in Washington.   Speaking of great NAPS timing once again!
